It's a doubly great day to be an Adam Lambert fan today.
First, the singer announced that he would front an upcoming tour with the remaining band members of Queen, hitting up various arenas and stadiums in honor of late singer Freddie Mercury.
Now, Lambert has released the official music video for his latest single - off his soon-to-be-released album - "Better Than I Know Myself." In it, we see two sides of the singer, as a pair of personalities square off; one is all dark and leather-y, the other calm, serene, sipping on tea even.
Which will win out? Watch and see what happens:
Miley Cyrus has gone very public with her defense of gay marriage.
In July of last year, the singer got a tattoo (below) on her finger that she posted on Twitter, along with the caption "All LOVE is Equal." She got a lot of flak for the move, criticism she's now responding to via an editorial in Glamor.
"A lot of people mocked me," Miley writes. "They said, 'What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!' And I said, 'Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.'"
Cyrus is speaking out now on the topic, she says, due to the "unnecessary threats" leveled at both her and her supporters. She adds:
"I believe every American should be allowed the same rights and civil liberties. Without legalized same-sex marriage, most of the time you cannot share the same health benefits, you are not considered next of kin and you are not granted the same securities as a heterosexual couple. How is this different than having someone sit in the back of the bus because of their skin color?"
It's just not right, Miley concludes of the argument that homosexual couples are somehow held to a different standard than heterosexual couples.
"We all should be tolerant of one another and embrace our differences," she writes.
No doubt Cyrus will fall under fire once again for making her beliefs on this controversial subject well known, which is exactly why we admire her so much for doing so.
For all the criticism leveled at the first season of The X Factor - which resulted in the dismissal of Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Steve Jones last week - no one took issue with the show's champion.
Melanie Amaro can seriously sing.
And Super Bowl viewers will find out for themselves on Sunday, as the 19-year old teams with Elton John for a 60-second Pepsi commercial. Said the latter: "Pepsi wanted to make me ‘King for a Day’ on Super Bowl Sunday. How could I possibly pass that up?"
What, exactly, is he talking about? Watch the spot now and see for yourself:
The late Leslie Carter (married name Leslie Carter Ashton) died earlier this week.
While Leslie Carter's cause of death was an apparent overdose of prescription drugs, the 25-year-old's trouble with depression was a long time in the making.
It stemmed in large part from the fact that "She thought she would become the next famous Carter sibling," says a source who once managed her brothers.
In Leslie's case, although signed to DreamWorks Records, stardom eluded her.
Backstreet Boys singer Nick, of course, became very successful, as did younger brother Aaron. Leslie (below, right) felt great pressure to follow in their footsteps.
"She was always extremely happy for her brothers, don't get me wrong," says the source, in an interview with People magazine. "But it was tough for her."
According to sources close to the family, Leslie remained supportive of her brothers. At various family events, she would happily appear alongside them.
When all five siblings signed on for the E! show House of Carters, Leslie was an enthusiastic participant. "She really loved the attention," says the source.
But according to a police report, Leslie's stepmother, Ginger, stated that Leslie "had a history of mental illness and was on medication for her depression."
Life in the Carter family was nearly always chaotic.
In 2003, Aaron Carter went so far as to file for legal emancipation from his mother, Jane Carter, after accusing her of mismanaging his money.
The next year, Jane Carter was arrested and charged with battery in an alleged attack on her estranged husband's then-girlfriend, Ginger Elrod.
In 2005, big brother Nick was arrested for DUI in Southern California.
In 2008, 20-year-old Aaron was charged with marijuana possession.
Leslie, who was married and has a one-year-old daughter, remained close to both brothers, but felt increasingly lost in her own life. Says the source:
"This is a family who has had a lot of problems. At any given time, I didn't know who was speaking to who, who was in trouble, who was clean."
Leslie (she was estranged from her husband) was living with her father, Robert, in Buffalo N.Y., as she tried to wean herself off of medication.
Tragically, she couldn't in time.
Three prescription bottles were found at the scene were she was unresponsive: Olanzapine, used to treat schizophrenia and/or bipolar disorder, the muscle relaxant Cyclobenzaprine, and the anxiety medication Xanax.
Sources close to the Carters say the tragedy has hit the family hard. Just hours after Leslie's death, Aaron Carter posted on her Facebook page:
"RIP my dearest sister. I love u."
The Internet is abuzz with reports that Eddie Murphy is dead. He is not.
We repeat: Twitter is not a news source. Eddie Murphy is 100% alive.
Sources close to the Tower Heist star have already debunked the hoax, just the latest in a long line of online pranks designed to fake kill a star for some reason.
The frenzy was initially sparked by MediaFetcher (dot) com, then spread like wildfire thanks to Twitter. This site is believed to be responsible for spinning bogus stories about other numerous celebrities they claim are dead but are not.
The Bon Jovi death hoax was a different guy, but Cher, Charlie Sheen, TooShort, The Rock, Kevin Bacon, Luke Perry, Jack Black, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Tom Green, Tiger Woods, George Clooney and others have fallen victim of late.
All are still alive and kicking. Thank goodness.

What will it take to finally get country singer LeAnn Rimes to move on and stop talking about the scandalous affair that she and Eddie Cibrian carried on? It's not even like she was the one who was scorned in the whole thing. Why must she continually bring this topic up each and every time she makes an appearance or gives an interview?
On The Ellen Degeneres Show this week, LeAnn felt the need to discuss the drama, yet again. Regarding the affair, she said it "could've been handled a lot better. But maybe we both didn't have the tools at the time to do it properly. But I've learned a lot. Obviously we all make choices that lead us into a different path, here and there, and you learn from those or you don't."
She went on to say (as if to justify something), "It obviously brought us to the place where we are now. And we're happy, and we're married. I think we have both come to a really good place in our lives. And right now, I'm really at peace."
That's all fine and good, but maybe if you're truly 'at peace' as you say, it's best to put it all behind you. For good.
