First Lady Michelle Obama has given away the glamorous gown she wore last year to a number of balls commemorating President Barack Obama's inauguration.
Mrs. Obama donated her one-shouldered, white dress by Jason Wu to the Smithsonian Institute. The gown will be displayed at the National Museum of American History as part of an exhibit showcasing gowns worn by first ladies from Mamie Eisenhower to Mrs. Obama.
"I am very honored and very humbled, but I have to say that I?m also a little embarrassed by all the fuss being made over my dress," the First Lady said while presenting her gown to the museum on Tuesday. "Like many of you, I?m not used to people wanting to put things I?ve worn on display."
A North Carolina judge considered sentencing Andrew Young and his wife Cheri to jail on Tuesday, but John Edwards' former aide avoided the slammer.
Superior Court Judge Abraham Penn Jones expressed interest in jailing the Youngs for up to 75 days by holding them in contempt of court, says the Associated Press. Ultimately, Jones gave Young until Friday to fully explain how he?d handled certain materials -- including an alleged sex tape featuring Edwards -- sought by Edwards' ex-mistress Rielle Hunter.
"My intent is for him to be truthful to the court and be thorough with the court," the judge said.
A TV producer who threatened to reveal indiscretions of talk show host David Letterman unless he was paid $2 million entered a plea on Tuesday.
Robert Halderman pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny, a felony, in New York City, and also apologized publicly to Letterman and his family. Halderman will serve six months in jail concurrent with five years of probation. He will also complete 1,000 hours of community service in the form of helping young adults newly out of prison as well as formerly homeless people with literary and vocational skills.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. said, in part, Tuesday, "Robert Joel Halderman?s guilty plea today to the attempted extortion of David Letterman sends a strong message: If you commit this type of crime in Manhattan, whether you threaten to extort a celebrity or any other citizen, you will be investigated, prosecuted and you will almost certainly go to jail."
Lindsay Lohan is suing the financial company E-Trade, claiming the boyfriend-stealing, "milkaholic" baby in their Super Bowl commercials was modeled after her.
The suit was filed in Nassau County Supreme Court in New York on Monday and the actress/socialite is asking for $100 million for her "pain and suffering."
The commercial shows a talking baby boy trying to convince his baby girlfriend that he wasn't hanging out with a "milkaholic Lindsay" the night before. "Lindsay?" says the boy as a baby girl's head pops up and slurs "Milk-a-what?"
After enduring 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, reality star Heidi Montag is spoofing herself in the latest Funny Or Die video, directed by none other than Ron Howard.
"If you're a reality TV star, chances are you'll one day have plastic surgery," Montag says in a serious tone. "It's also a for sure thing that you'll have to pay for that surgery with credit cards because you've spent all of your 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here' money on expensive purses, small dogs and healing bracelets for your husband," she says as her husband Spencer Pratt is displayed with healing bracelets on his wrists.
The video is in support of a proposed consumer credit protection legislation. Howard is directing a series of spots in support of this cause.

Thank goodness.
Despite John Mayer's recent comments, in which he spoke in no uncertain terms about boning Jessica Simpson, she says she's still a trusting person deep down.
"I'm not as guarded as you would think. I should probably be more guarded. I trust a lot of people, actually," the actress told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show.
Not that she's over being disappointed in John, who has apologized for calling her "sexual napalm" and "crack cocaine," and whose apology she did not accept.
"That's truly how I felt and still feel," she said. "Somebody that you have cared about for a long time, you just hope they can keep the intimate things intimate."
LIKE CRACK: We hear that describes her in bed. Someone said that ...
In all honesty, as much as we think John Mayer is a pretentious a$$clown who needs to go the hell away, does Jessica really have to keep harping on this issue?
After taking John to task, she spoke warmly of Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, who worked with her on the theme for her show The Price of Beauty.
"I can't find good enough words to speak about Billy," Simpson said. "He's a very, very dear friend. For him to give his time and his talents and share them with me, it was a great experience. And I hope we can do more music together."
Sexual Napalm denies making anything more than music with him, though.
Charlie Sheen can soon start uttering unfunny Two and a Half Men quotes again.
Next week, the actor will resume shooting the terrible CBS sitcom, but there's a caveat: he'll have to return to rehab every night. There are four episodes of the show remaining to the filmed this season.
On Monday, March 15, Sheen will be in an Aspen court for his felony arraignment. He'll then go back to Los Angeles that evening, where he'll stay at a treatment center and then head to work first thing Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, insiders say Sheen is in good spirits and his doctors have given him permission to resume shooting.
As for that woman who claims to have done drugs, as well as Sheen AND Brooke Mueller... no word from her yet.
You gotta give it to Heidi Montag here. Mocking her own plastic surgery addiction as part of an effort to urge Congress and consumers to enact fiscal reform? Genius.
The Hills star is now joining the rest of the country in laughing at The Hills star with the help of Funny or Die and director Ron Howard, who created this new video.
The goal? To urge Congress to enact financial reform.
"I was honored to work with the amazing Ron Howard," Montag said. "He was kind, generous and made me feel so comfortable ... feel so confident in my talent."
Whatever that might consist of.

In any case, Montag's video is part of a series by the Americans for Financial Reform that urges, among other things, massive call-ins throughout the week to push Congress toward forming a strong, independent Consumer Financial Protection Agency.
Heidi jokes in the pseudo PSA that reality stars who max out their credit cards for unnecessary plastic surgery need financial relief. What is a poor gal to do?!
Funny and Die is working on additional videos to urge the government to act on and pass financial reform. Follow the jump to see Heidi Montag do her part ...
Emmy-winning CBS News producer Robert 'Joe' Halderman pleaded guilty to shaking down David Letterman as payback for the host's affair with his girlfriend.
Today, Halderman admitted giving Dave a "screenplay treatment" that was "a thinly veiled threat to ruin Mr. Letterman if he did not pay me a lot of money."
In exchange for the guilty plea, the extortion plotter will receive a six-month prison sentence, 4 1/2 years probation and 1,000 hours of community service.
Outside court, he expressed his remorse for the sordid episode.
"I apologize to Mr. Letterman, to his family, to (girlfriend) Stephanie Birkitt and her family, and my family and friends," said Halderman in a brief statement.
The plea came five months after Halderman threatened to expose Letterman's affairs with several female staffers, including the blackmailer's ex, Birkitt.
David Letterman and his blackmailer, Robert "Joe" Halderman.
Letterman released a statement thanking city police and prosecutors for their help in resolving the bizarre case that exposed his fondness for staffers.
"I had complete faith that a just and appropriate result was inevitable," Letterman said. "On behalf of my family, I am extremely grateful for their efforts."
Halderman would have faced up to 15 years behind bars if he had been convicted of a bizarre blackmail scheme involving the long-time Late Show host.
David Letterman's affair with Halderman's girlfriend, Stephanie Birkitt, ended shortly before his blackmail bid, but also predated her living with Halderman.
Halderman was arrested after Letterman - in a stunning admission on air - admitted cheating on wife Regina Lasko and detailed the blackmail attempt.
Halderman actually collected a $2 million check from Letterman as part of a sting operation started after the host went to police about the shakedown.
He was busted after depositing the check in his Connecticut bank.

Justin Bieber met and greeted fans that turned out to see the young star, prior to chatting with deejays about his upcoming album, My World 2.0.
The CD will be released on March 23 and Bieber will support it with his very first headlining tour. In other words: expect to see A LOT of this face over the next few weeks. But that's not a bad thing, is it?

POISON singer Bret Michaels recently spoke to Billboard.com about his upcoming appearance on NBC 's "The Celebrity Apprentice" , which is scheduled to premiere March 14.
Most people come to Sam Rockwell sideways. Maybe they happen across one of his forays into the mainstream - his bad guy in Charlie's Angels, say - and something snags their attention: the crackle of anarchy behind his eyes, the improvisatory scat of his line readings, or maybe just the way he seems to be grooving on his own badassness.
For the first time since 1943, ten movies and not five will have a chance at winning the Oscar award for best picture.

What Oscars wrap up would be complete without a look at the parties AFTER the Academy Awards were handed out? Here's a look at two of the biggest... the Vanity Fair Party and Elton John's AIDS Foundation Party.

It's only been a few months since she and Jake Gyllenhaal called it quits on their relationship, but rumor has it that Reese Witherspoon has already found herself a new man. Who is he? Word on the street is that Reese, 33, has been quietly dating CAA agent Jim Toth and things appear to be getting serious between them.
Wait - Didn't she and Jake break up over the fact that they wanted different things? He wanted marriage and she wasn't interested in traveling down that road again. Could this new guy be just the one to change her mind?

In an attempt to hit back at the tabloids alleging that Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's new marriage may already be over, the reality star took to her blog. Some of the gossip magazines have apparently been reporting that there is trouble in paradise for not only Khloe, 25, and Lamar, 30, but also her sister Kourtney and her baby daddy Scott Disick.
Khloe writes: "My sisters and I had a great laugh this morning. Star and InTouch decided to attack our relationships. Apparently I'm heading for divorce, Kim was dumped and Kourt was duped. Wow, sad week for us Kardashian sisters, and how coincidental that this all happened at the same time! Lamar and I are obsessed and can barely be away from each other," she posted on her personal blog.
While Khloe may have set the record straight regarding her own relationship, something tells me that her sister Kourtney's situation might be a little bit different. You'd only need to see one episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians to know that Scott isn't exactly boyfriend of the year material. She claims that he's trying, but I'll believe it when I actually see it.

The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka handed out his final rose last night and shockingly, it went to Vienna Giraldi. Let's just say that she wasn't exactly a fan favorite. In my opinion, one of the most liked women from this last season would definitely be Ali Fedotowsky. She and Jake had what appeared to be genuine chemistry and potential.
However, when her job forced her to head home or risk being unemployed, Ali made her decision. She packed her bags and walked out on Jake and the opportunity of a lifetime. It looks like she's getting another shot at love as ABC just announced that Ali will be hosting the next season of The Bachelorette.
Here's what I'm wondering: If Ali was 'forced' to abandon the final weeks of The Bachelor to avoid losing her job, how does she plan to pull a disappearing act when it comes time to film her own show? Is Ali suddenly willing to put love before her career?

Just a few days shy of her March 3 due date, Jim Carrey's daughter Jane gave birth to her first child on Friday in Los Angeles. Jane and her husband singer Alex Santana welcomed a baby boy named Jackson Riley Santana into the world, according to People magazine.
Jim, 47, posted a photo on his Twitter page and happily exclaimed, "Jackson Riley Santana, My Grandson, Born today! This is what 7lbs.11oz. of Calfornia dynomite looks like!"
Something tells me this kid is in for some serious laughs with slapstick comedian Jim Carrey as his grandfather.
